What you are experiencing is
most likely due to a recent Windows Update on
your system. It is normal that AVG shows that
files, the Master Boot Record, or Boot record
have changed. These are done doing normal maintenance,
when you or Windows updates files or have had
to correct errors on the drive. The only time
that you should worry is if they also show as
infected.
To get AVG to quit showing them as changed, open
the AVG Test Center, click the F3 key on your
keyboard and tell it to accept the changes. If
it still shows something as changed after this...
delete the file named AVG7QT.DAT in C: and AVG
will rebuild it the next time it is run.
To help prevent this message, you can use the
CleanUp!
from our Free
Utilities page. You can add the file (AVG7QT.DAT)
to the Options section to remove it each time
that you run the CleanUp! utility. To do this
open CleanUp! and click on the "Options..."
button. From the Options window, click on the
"Custom Files" tab and click the "Add"
button to add "C:\AVG7QT.DAT" to the
list. Once this is done, run CleanUp! to clean
your system of temporary and other unnecessary
files. The next time AVG runs a scan, the AVG7QT.DAT
will be recreated.
