There are different ways to open CSV-files depending on the version of Excel that you have. We are going to focus on newer versions of Excel (2016 and above). Even though the method may be different on different versions of Excel, this example should give you an idea of how to do the same with other versions of Excel.
NOTE: It is important that you do not open the CSV-file directly in Excel, but instead open an empty spreadsheet and then using the method below.
- Go to the Data-tab and select From Text/CSV.
- Select the file you want to import from your file system and press Get Data.
- This will open the following window:
- After setting the File Origin and Delimiter to your desired setting, click Load.
